These guidelines tell you how the community is intended to operate, what good and bad behaviours are, and the steps we’ll take to help the community thrive.
Purpose of the community
YES! Connect provides a platform for discussion through Groups and Forums. Find people and help them, and they in turn shall help you. Share information and knowledge. Start with open questions and seek to problem-solve. Create opportunities to kickstart energy deals and projects to closure and successful execution – not just for yourself or your business, but for the continent.
Guidelines
Age Restriction: The YES! Connect app may only be accessed by adults aged 18 or over.
Use the platform to connect and engage with others: We encourage you to engage with your connections through messaging, commenting, and sharing of content. This platform should also be used to connect with those members that you either share a background or interest with, or those that you may benefit professionally by being connected with.
Complete your profile: We encourage you to ensure that you have completed your profile to the fullest, with recent photos, filled out bios, and up-to-date and accurate information about your profession and/or studies. Get some badges!
Join or create appropriate groups: Create or join groups that you believe reflect your profession and/or industry, country of residence, background, interests within the industry etc. Try to seek out a relevant group before creating one. Encourage the community to contribute and thrive.
Interact with other members: Use the platform to engage with other members, share and reshare posts, network and connect with members, engage with content that you do come across.
Be careful with your personal information: Don’t share anything more than you’re comfortable with.
Do not post harassing content: We don’t allow bullying or harassment. This includes targeted personal attacks, intimidation, shaming, disparagement, and abusive language directed at other members. We don’t allow threatening or inciting violence. You may also not share content that depicts gore, hatred, or violence. We don’t allow content that attacks, denigrates, intimidates, dehumanizes, incites or threatens hatred, violence, prejudicial or discriminatory action against individuals or groups because of their actual or perceived race, ethnicity, national origin, caste, gender, gender identity, sexual orientation, religious affiliation, age, or disability status.
Do not share false or misleading content: Ensure that your name, personal information and personal photo is all truthful. Do not share content in a way that you know is, or think may be, misleading or inaccurate, including misinformation or disinformation. Do not share content or endorse someone or something in exchange for personal benefit (including personal or family relationships, monetary payment, free products or services, or other value).
Do not spam members or the platform: Please make the effort to create original, professional, relevant, and interesting content in order to gain engagement. Don’t do things to artificially increase engagement with your content.
Report abuse: if you see something that falls outside the guidelines, please let the team know and we will review, and intervene and escalate if required.
And if things go wrong? If a user can’t abide by the guidelines, we will moderate or delete the content in question, and may suspend or expel users from the community. Expulsion is a last resort and we will take this action decisively when required.
Child safety
Child safety standards: We do not allow content or activity that sexually exploits or endangers children. Users are prohibited from (i) creating, uploading or distributing child sexual abuse materials (CSAM) or other content that facilitates the exploitation or abuse of children and (ii) any behaviour involving child sexual abuse and exploitation (CSAE). Upon becoming aware of CSAM or CSAE, any content will be removed and appropriate action taken which may include suspending or expelling users from the community and reporting the content or behaviour to law enforcement and the relevant child protection agencies.
Report CSAE concerns: To report CSAM or other content or behaviour that may exploit a child, or any CSAE related concerns, please use the YES! Connect in-app reporting function or contact us at [email protected].
Notification and child safety laws: If we become aware of content containing CSAM we will notify the National Centre for Missing and Exploited Children, Internet Watch Foundation or the appropriate child safety organization and act in accordance with the relevant child safety laws.
